Combined Operations Reenactors Association or CORA is not a new group, its been around for a while, infact its not just a group but an Association of many smaller groups Combining its strengths to carry out a single operation.
The Association started out over 12 years ago as the Station X Living History Group and carried out several very succesfull events when based at Bletchley Park. Around 6 years ago elements of the Association moved its operation to Twinwood Airfield, adopting the new name Twinwood Airfield Reenactment Association. After 4 years of running WWII Historical shows at the Airfield, support for the site ceased and the Association became independant of any base location and static commitments.
Over a 4 years ago the name TARA was changed to CORA, the Combined Operations Reenactors Association. Its new name illustrating the combined efforts of all the groups within the Association.
The Aim of the Association ultimatly was and is to provide a larger umbrella Association for all the groups and to make the raising insurance costs more affordable to smaller groups.
Membership Covers both Allied and Axis groups and although the Association is administered by the parent group The First Allied Airborne Association, all groups maintain their independance in regards to attending events. However all groups are encouraged to come together to support each year a major Association run event. To date this has been the Prelude to D-Day run in May and the Campaign 45 events run in March, both taking place at the Chiltern Open Air Museum.
At this time the following smaller groupings make up CORA;
